Rick Perales is not only an outstanding leader and elected official; he is a good and caring man. Clearly he has prepared himself to be an effective legislator – Air Force Commander, UD Campus Planner Director, Beavercreek Mayor and Greene County Commissioner. But he has also done much for the community, i.e., Greene Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Red Cross, Boy Scout, Big Brothers and many more community-based interaction. It’s this total contribution to our community that has earned Rick The Coming Together Center and Gospel for Today “Over 10 Years Service Award.” We would be fortunate to have a person of Rick’s integrity; experience and energy represent us in Columbus.
Director, Gospel For Today
Rick Perales is a leader. He was a leader in the USAF, as a Mayor, a County Commissioner and in the business community. Rick has, and continues to make a positive impact on the region. I worked with Rick while I served in the Beavercreek Police Department and have witnessed, close up, Rick's energy, knowledge and commitment to our community. Rick is the credible leader we need representing us in Columbus.
John Turner, Beaverceek Chief of Police, 2006-2011
I had the honor to work with Rick Perales as a fellow county commissioner. Commissioner Perales was always very knowledgeable concerning the issues affecting the community and region. I consider Commissioner Perales an outstanding candidate to represent this area in the state legislature.
Former County Commissioner Montgomery County
Even though I've served with Rick on the Greene County Regional Planning Committee and in other official capacities, it's Rick's non-office holding actions that matter most to my family. Seven years ago Rick showed up at Dayton Children's Hospital because he heard our daughter, who was eleven at the time, had been diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes and had just come out of the ICU. Rick was awesome as he participated in the JD training and let Sarah give him practice shots sparing me from those nasty needles. Rick is more than an elected official, he's a friend. My wife and I met Rick at a Military non-profit event 6 months ago. We explained our issues we had with the water company. We were given a $4,000 water bill with no pool or outside irrigation system. Rick stepped up and walked us through the process. From the start, he made sure we had water and they didn't shut it off. They tried multiple times but he fought for us and in the end with his guidance, they assessed our bill and worked out a reasonable solution for both us and Greene County. We couldn't have gone through this journey without Ricks help. If he fought that hard for just one family, imagine what he could do for all of us. From my family to you, thank you for being caring. This is the man for the job and he has our vote no question.
Vermon L. Dillon
I have known Rick Perales for several years. He is a man of high moral character, leadership ability and has a caring personality for the people in Greene County. We need Rick in Columbus to move Greene County Forward!

Ohio Veterans, Get out and VOTE! We have so many veteran issues coming against us regarding our benefits and opportunities that we need a person to represent us in Columbus to fight for our rights and to stop our eroding entitlements and benefits, so that is why I am endorsing Rick Perales. Rick is a veteran himself and is concerned about the issues facing our veterans past and present. He will make sure our voice is heard throughout the State of Ohio and he has made Veterans one of his Office Priorities and that’s important to me as a Commander.
Rick Perales is a proven leader, both in the military uniform and during his civic duties. Therefore, I wholeheartly endorse Rick as my nomination for the State Representative. He will lead from the front and will do the right thing regarding Veterans issues …You can count on it. Good Luck Rick, see you in Columbus!

I have withdrawn my candidacy from State Representative and have joined Rick Perales and his campaign. Rick and I have been friends since his campaign for Beavercreek City Council when he was elected Mayor. Rick’s common sense approach to governing will serve us well in Columbus. I have found Rick to be approachable and willing to do what needs to be done in service for our community. I believe Perales will hold our district and the office in high regard and serve with dignity and honor.
Dr. Aram M Donigian
Rick Perales's service to Beavercreek and Greene County is second to none. As councilman and mayor, he worked earnestly to bring together community and business leaders for Beavercreek's benefit. Broadening his dedication to the larger community, he worked diligently the last few years as Greene County Commissioner. Always visible and always working for the greater good of our communities, he has proven time and again that he is a leader who can get the job done. It is time to send Rick to Columbus where he can have a greater impact for our local communities, advocate at a higher level for Wright Patterson Air Force Base and help move Ohio in a successful direction. Having known Rick for many years now, I proudly endorse his run for Ohio House Representative, and encourage others to support him as well.

When looking for a leader to help build for the future, Rick Perales has a combination of professional experiences which reflect the makeup of this community. Rick is an Air Force Veteran; He’s been an elected official for a City and County; he is a senior development executive at a respected university. Given this background, it is not surprising that Rick has developed a reputation as someone who can effectively collaborate regardless of jurisdiction; political party; industry; or university affiliation.
If our community is to truly transform itself, elected leaders with Rick’s diverse experience may provide the best opportunity.
J.P. Nauseef, Dayton Development Coalition CEO and President, 2004-2007
I have known Rick Perales for several years. I’m excited to see a candidate with his integrity running for State Representative. We are in need of a leader who is concerned about OUR needs. Rick Perales is that man. I have personally known Rick to take the time to make changes for the better, and to not quit until the job was done. With Rick Perales in the seat of the 73rd District as a State Representative we can expect great things to come.
Jamestown, OH Resident
In 2004, I founded an organization providing support to the wounded Service Members. When Rick found out about our organization, he became phenomenally supportive and enthusiastic about an opportunity to provide comfort and support to those wounded while serving our country. Since then, every time I have become involved in an organization that reaches out to people in our community - be that GreenBUCs, providing adaptive bicycles for people with disabilities, or Dayton Children’s Medical Center through our son, Mike’s, Ambassador events – I find that Rick has been there before us and is 100% engaged. He has always shown an immense capacity activism on behalf of our community. He is incredibly adept at accomplishing great things for the community and I look forward to his tenure in the State Legislature!

I met Rick Perales shortly after moving to this area from my last overseas assignment. Immediately, it was apparent to me that he was truly a caring leader with strong family values. He took immediate interest in my family and children, three of which have developmental delays. I also learned we had a common career path, with my duty as a Command Chief and his experience as an Air Force Squadron Commander. In these positions, taking care of people is job #1, and Rick was no doubt outstanding in that capacity. I see Rick Perales at many base events, connecting to our airmen to ensure they have the quality of life they need and deserve! We need his representation now!
Mike Ronayne, Command Chief Master Sergeant (Retired)
I have known Rick Perales for many years. He is a firm believer in regional cooperation to make the whole area move forward. During his years as Commissioner, Rick has been proactive and cooperative especially when dealing with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. His experience with the military has been a huge asset in Wright-Patt’s growth from 22,000 to 26,000 jobs.
Col Paul M. Dankovich
When the builder of our subdivision dragged his feet on infrastructure commitments, I turned to Commissioner Rick Perales. He got results! Along the way I found him to be approachable, responsive, and committed. His diverse experience and keen leadership was the key to turning an intractable situation into a taxpayer success story. Rick Perales has my vote for the Ohio House of Representatives.
Col Paul M. Dankovich, USAF, Ret.
I served in the US Air Force, in 88th CEG, with Rick Perales; at that time I knew him as Major Perales, or often just “sir.” He was part of a command staff that I’ve used time and again as an example of exactly what good leadership looks like.
A commanding officer is responsible for the activities of his entire squadron, for the objectives of the mission, and for proper leadership. Rick Perales brought more than capability to the job, but compassion as well.
I could recite his official accomplishments, but that doesn’t tell you who Rick is. I remember a mobility exercise at Wright Patterson AFB, a 4 day rehearsal in which we worked hard 16 hour days. We’d done well, and we were some hot and sweaty airmen. The officers made a few calls, knowing they had a perfect way to reward those of us who’d just simulated building a full airfield out of a cratered strip of dirt.
They sent us over to the Officer’s Club on base to use the showers in shifts. Not only did Major Perales make sure we all got a nice shower instead of field washing, but he gave a young airman who’d skimped on checklist items a towel out of his own gear. There was no dressing down, no punishment for being unprepared, just a lifting of one eyebrow that seemed to say “You’re never going to short your gear again, right?” As you may have guessed, I learned the lesson.
Dressing down, throwing weight around, wasn’t his way. It’s his way to lead from the front, with integrity and honor.
He would roll his sleeves and grab a shovel with us. He made sure he understood every one of the jobs in the squadron. He didn’t assume he knew, he asked questions. He didn’t just care about the mission, he cared about those of us on his team, even those at the bottom of the chain of command.
I knew Rick Perales as a great commanding officer; I look forward to knowing him as a great State Representative.
Served with Rick in Air Force
Rick helped some clients of mine through some difficulties they experienced with Greene County. The problems were largely of their own making, but Rick was right there to ensure that the county did everything possible to help them through the process. What was especially noteworthy was his level of caring. These folks were not politically powerful or "connected" in any way. They were just citizens of Greene County--Rick saw this as his duty to them. Very impressive!

Rick has been a driving force for this region, especially for Wright-Patterson AFB. His military background and community leadership greatly influenced our 2005 Base Realignment and Closure win and contributed to successfully bedding down the new missions and more than 1,000 new jobs. Given the announced budget reductions for DOD and our recent changes in congressional representation for WPAFB, his work on our behalf is more important now than ever. Rick's experience, education and proven leadership is exactly the representation this community needs in Columbus.

Pastor Ken Day
Dear Mr. Perales,
I am so glad you are running for state representative. I know you truly have a heart to help others.
I will never forget when you cast the deciding vote at the Beavercreek City Council meeting that allowed our church to use the building we now hold church services in. As a result we have had the opportunity to help many in this community as well as missions around the world. I will vote and encourage others to vote for you because you would be a great representative for our state. It is obvious that you care about the things that have made this country great, and will work toward those things to make it better. I support you and will pray for you.
God bless you.

I am former Fairborn Councilman Frank Cervone and I am endorsing Rick Perales as the Republican candidate for Ohio State Representative in the 73rd District, which includes Fairborn, Beavercreek, Yellow Springs, Bellbrook, and the surrounding communities.
Rick has been actively involved in Greene County for more than ten years holding positions of both Mayor where he was named Ohio Jaycees Outstanding Mayor in 2003; and Councilman of Beavercreek and has served as your Greene County Commissioner since 2005.
Commissioner Perales was instrumental in bringing jobs to Greene County with the BRAC and with his extensive background in infrastructure, has been an asset to Greene County as they prepare for the future. He has been named one of the Dayton Business Journal’s 25 Most Influential People of the Decade and most recently, an Ohio Veteran Hall of Fame Inductee.
Perales joined the Air Force in 1982 and was commissioned as an Air Force Second Lieutenant. He obtained a B.S. Degree in Building Science Construction and later earned his Masters Degree in International Relations. His talents were not only used in the United States, but also in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Germany where he was involved in the operations, maintenance and repairs needed on many Air Force Installations. In 1997, he retired from the Air Force with the rank of Commander of the 788th Civil Engineer Squadron right here at WPAFB after receiving many awards and commendations.
Rick has also given so much to the community not only by being appointed to Wright State University’s External Advisory Board for Mechanical and Materials; but by serving on the Beavercreek’s Board of Zoning Appeals. He is also on the Board of the Saint Joseph’ Treatment Center, The Victoria Theatre, Habitat for Humanity, The Community Network, The Red Cross, The United Way and the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Organization.
On a personal note, Rick has always been there if I ever needed him and has been a supportive husband and wonderful Father.
Please join me in supporting Rick Perales as your next Ohio State Representative!
Former Fairborn Councilman

Gwen and I are Democrats who proudly endorse Rick Perales because of the measure of the man he has demonstrated to us through our longtime relationship. I was blessed to work with Rick during the “Beavercreek Vision Committee” efforts and witnessed firsthand his effective leadership and commitment to the people. He is honest, fair and firm in his beliefs, so be quick and vote for Rick!
William T. Pollard Jr.
President, GMW Management, Inc.
Robert Wood, Fairborn City Councilman
I have known Rick Perales for a number of years and am happy to endorse him in his State Representative campaign. Rick served our country as a USAF Engineer in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Germany as well as stateside, retiring as Commander of the 788th Civil Engineering Squadron at WPAFB. He then became Mayor of Beavercreek and was elected to two terms as a Greene County Commissioner, thus able to bring a wealth of life experience and "know how" to his campaign to be our State Representative in Columbus.
His background and experience in planning and management enables him to see a situation clearly and require only a short time to propose a solution when needed. In Columbus, he will stay focused on jobs, economic issues and maintaining great relations between our communities and WPAFB.
Please join me in supporting Rick Perales for State Representative.
Fairborn City Councilman
I have known Rick Perales for over 15 years and he has demonstrated the leadership skills we need in Columbus. As a commander at WPAFB, he earned the respect of those who served in his unit at the same time he met the challenges of dealing with the infrastructure of one of the nation's most complex military installations. As base environmental manager, and now in my role as a park district commissioner, it is clear to me that Rick understands the importance of protecting our environment, as well as how to use our natural and historic resources as an element of economic development, in balance with improving our community's quality of life. As county commissioner he has provided strong, consistent, direction for Greene County with nothing but positive results for the place we both call home. While many talk about collaboration among governmental entities, Rick has been truly a leader who works hard to make government more effecient across jurisdictional boundaries on behalf of all the taxpayers. State government will be better because of the approach that Rick will bring to the legislature. Lastly, Rick has an unmatched level of enthusiasm, energy and passion that will translate into the best service by a state representative on behalf of the citizens of the 73rd District as well as those in the surrounding region. I highly endorse Rick Perales for Ohio State Representative of the 73rd District!
Retired Base Environmental Manager, WPAFB
The citizens of the 73rd district deserve to have a truly dedicated state representative like Rick Perales. Rick is a steadfast and unwavering leader, strengthened with his service in the United States Air Force. He has time in and time out persevered through multiple challenges to provide genuine support for all of his constituents. The compassion Rick demonstrates to the people is strong and true. Commissioner Perales displays many characteristics that would make him an asset to our state including his accountability, work ethic, values, and honesty. I admire Rick’s concern for the citizens of his district in these hard times. Serving his community for the past ten years, Rick will continue to endorse initiatives to balance budgets and policies that make Ohio more prosperous for our families. Please join me in endorsing Rick Perales for State Representative.
New Jasper Township Trustee
Last year, Rick Perales played a pivotal role in The Piano Preparatory School’s successful relocation. When the property owner ran into construction issues that could have resulted in significant delays and potential failure for my business, Rick not only helped facilitate a safe and reasonable solution with Greene County, but ensured that my business was able to be fully operational on schedule. This support of small business needs is exactly the vision I want in an elected State Representative. I am confident that Rick will continue to focus on making small business growth in our community a priority once elected.
Owner, The Piano Preparatory School
I’ve seen up-close the attributes Rick Perales brings to the table as an elected official. His engineering background and leadership skills have allowed Rick to make major positive impacts to our community. Likewise his collaborative nature has allowed him to effectively accomplish some previous unobtainable and significant breakthroughs. We will miss Rick at the County, but I look forward to the positive impact he will make for the region and state while serving us in
Greene County Commissioner 2007-Current

I've known Rick for many years and would like to say that he is a very community and veteran oriented person. Rick is a veteran himself and I was introduced to him when he joined the Beavercreek American Legion which I'm a life member of the Am. Legion Auxiliary. There has not been any time when I've seen him that Rick hasn't had the time to stop and and say, "Hi, how are things going?" I've called him and asked, "Rick, I'm holding this ceremony or that dinner/function", that he's not asked, "How can I help?" or sent a very gracious letter/proclamation to enhance what was going on. I feel that Rick will do us(Greene county) a great job in the 73rd district as he has done for Beavercreek and Greene county.

Dave Hobson, United States Congressman 1998-2007
If the State of Ohio is ever going to emerge as a competitive business and quality of living state, it will need to have educated, experienced, respected and bold leadership. Greene County Commissioner Rick Perales fills all of those criteria. Rick has been innovative and successful at both the City and County level of government. He has a tremendous track record in the military – a 2010 Ohio Veteran Hall of Fame Inductee, and has led the University of Dayton through tremendous physical expansion and growth. We need Rick’s vision, experience and collaborative nature in Ohio to move this state forward!
United States Congressman 1998-2007
Governer Bob Taft
Rick Perales is a proven leader. As a Commander in the Air Force, a Mayor and County Commissioner he has demonstrated a talent for leading others in a colloborative manner and getting the job done. Rick has served his country with distinction, is a member of the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame and is well prepared to serve the people of Ohio as a state legislator.
Bob Taft, Governor of Ohio 1999-2007
Distinguished Research Associate
University of Dayton
Rick Perales was inducted into the Ohio Veteran Hall of Fame in 2010, not only for his stellar military career, but as much because of his actions and commitment to his community after his career. Rick has worked tirelessly on behalf of his community since his retirement from the USAF. In his capacity as the Beavercreek Mayor and Greene County Commissioner, Rick brought excitement, pride and vision to the community. As a former commander at WPAFB, Rick has vested interest in Wright Patt’s mission and our war fighters. His intimate knowledge of Wright Patterson Air Force Base and its operations, along with his established and credible leadership, make him the perfect fit to represent us in Columbus.
Prisoner of War, 2011 Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame Inductee, and Former USAF Pilot
I rarely participate in public discussion about political issues, but now is an exception. I am concerned about our representation in House District 73, currently provided by Jerrod Martin. I don’t know Mr. Martin personally, but his encounters with law enforcement (three, I think) and the decision by the Republican Caucus to exclude him, are cause for serious concern. We need someone who can be effective in the office, and it seems to me that Mr. Martin simply cannot be effective.
I do, however, know Rick Perales and believe he has the character, drive and leadership to represent District 73 successfully. He has been effective as a military commander, the Mayor of Beavercreek, and a member of the Greene County Board of Commissioners. I have watched him at Council meetings and it is clear he has the ability to listen to all sides of an issue, work with many opposing views and find solutions that will benefit our district, and the State of Ohio. I’ve known Rick for a many years. He is the right man for this job.
Our other candidate will tell you all politicians are bad and should be replaced. The truth is that not all politicians are bad … and not all novices are good. Each must be judged on his own merit.
I encourage everyone to support Rick Perales.
